When the reasearch of NOS parts is important....

    Hallo to everybody

you know i'm reconstructing my Sport Purpose 68S with almost all NOS parts ( i think i'm at 80% now...)

Well, i think i'm sick, of course, but as founder of NOSGRUPPE it's impossible now to go to a different way...

BTW, some times i ask to myself if all this strategy is clever...

then i find pieces like this one, and i understand how it's important to use NOS/correct period parts, and not the modern repros, often wrong...

this time a found this little, unimportant bags... with a soooo rare code:

    901 531 090 00 Abdichtung = Sealing film door inner panel Right . MY 69-

first. i found that the film is BLACK, not transparent as the modern types, and quite thick.

second: holes: only the hole for window regulator. no holes for electric windows switches.

third, and this is the other big discover, it was not made only by 1 film, but in the bottom part there is a noter strip sealed togheter with the main film.

i've already did not understand why there are 2 parts sealed, but the important thing is that if you want to check a really unmolested car, you have another part to look at.

    enjoy the photos!

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

I have some NOS 914 door films; they are clear plastic, and have a heat welded piece attached as well.

Someone recently asked about that flap on the bottom, it is supposed to hang inside the door shell. Its purpose is to keep water from running down into the car between the door shell and the upholstery panel, it will deflect the water into the shell where it can run out the drain holes. I don't have the NOS sheets like Andrea has, but I do my best to duplicate the functionality.

    Thank you very much!
    Finally i understand why!

Only a question: i don't understand where the two parts are glued to the door.
Could you post a draft sketch? Thank you!
