FS: Service offering - VIN decal imprinting service

    Hello All,

Let me introduce myself first. My name is Andy and I've been a 914 owner for over 10 years. Recently I purchase a factory 914-6 for restoration that started the quest to imprint the VIN/Compliance decal that Bob Moglia produces for our cars. After many iterations I am please at the results and have been supplying them to the 914 group and with Bobs help now have the details to run them for the 911's.

The decals are $90.00 each plus shipping that includes your VIN, production date and tamper cut circles like the original decals. If you have already purchase a decal from Bob subtract $9 and include it with your order form and supporting documents. Please insure the decal arrives without creases or bent corners as this may make the decal unusable. Below is a link to download the order form. On page two are photos of all versions of the decals and options needed to choose the correct decal for your model year. I also can reproduce the number 7 defect for pre- 75 cars if desired. see attached photo.

Included will be instructions for applying your decal. Your decal will have transfer tape to hold decal together and allow alignment during application.

That looks very nice. I know that I need at least a couple of these for cars I'm restoring. I'm sure you're going to make some people very happy here.

Your blank sample decals D1-D8 (contained on page 2) do not appear to have the circle (tamper proof) impressions, whereas the sample decal that contains the VIN imprint with the number 7 defect does. Are these circle impressions added when the blank is die cut with the VIN number, or do I need glasses? Thanks.

Hello Andy! First, amazing work. Congratulations!

Originally, I had plans to try and somehow save my OEM DOT label in my 70' factory six, but after seeing your results, I don't think is going to be worth my time and trouble (my OEM DOT label below). I would like to order one label and will follow your directions.

Quick question, would you offer a discount for printing a 2nd label of the same VIN? I would want to order a spare, just in case something goes wrong during the application. Please let me know. Thanks again!

They are not impressions!! they are cut circles making it fully tamper proof and is why the decals come with transfer tape applied. Otherwise it will come apart when you tried to peal the paper backing. Here is a picture from test cuts with more detail. The sample pictures are from Bob showing the available versions before any cutting.

Thanks!!! None of this would be possible if Bob had not reproduced these decals so beautifully. Allot of work went into getting this process to where its at but this is what we do to restore our cars as correct as possible.

Maybe at some point I can reduce the process to cut costs but there are 4 steps with setup to each decal to complete before sandwiching the decal in between ridged cardboard for safe shipping to the owner.

I got one of Andy's decals for my '74 914 and was very pleased with it. I installed it last weekend and could not be more happy with the results.

Got one for my '71 Targa from Andy several months ago and installed it recently. I am very happy with the results and price of $90 is a bargain.

Thanks. Your order form asks that the purchaser send a self addressed stamped envelope. I don't have access to US postage stamps. Would a self addressed envelope suffice?
