    CN36's

Has anyone bought a set of CN36 tires that Aase currently has for sale?

If so, here are some questions for you.....

    1. What is the date code on your tires?
    2. What is the condition of the tires? Rubber quality, sidewall stiffness, etc.
    3. Did you mount with or without tubes? What kind of tubes did you use? Size and brand.
    4. What size is your valve hole? (sounds funny....)
    5. Any issues mounting them?
    6. How will you drive your car with these tires?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

    Cn 36

I recently purchased one CN 36 from said establishment and am very unhappy with it and plan to return it. I is ROCK hand and I have decided not to even attempt to have it mounted. such a pity as they are lovely tires. They are tube type with a build date in 99

I bought a set of 4 and have not had them mounted yet, but they are not hard at all IMO. Certainly no age related cracking either. I plan to mount them without tubes and use them for showing the car, primarily in the up coming Parade.

I see you are in Chicago. I am in NW IN so if you would like to make a trip out to check them out would be glad to accommodate a visit. I plan to have them mounted next weekend.

I saw them at Hershey, they seemed hard, using my very un-scientific fingernail test. I had a conversation with Harvey Weidman about tire softeners, he thought they did a remarkable job. If you are unfamiliar with the products, they are used in racing applications. Something to keep in mind, these tire company's do a limited production run, and the tires my sit on the shelves for years, they are not making them on a continuous basis. If you want CN 36's, then thats the freshest you are going to get.

Their was another production run in 2005, regardless this is why they are best for show only.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

Thanks for that link and product info Rob. I had never heard of a tire softening liquid before. I looked up that company and they are only 50 mi away from me.
