FS: Hens Teeth... (Better Known as 67-68 911S rear Wide L-Calipers)

The trained eye will see 10mm spacers. The really, really trained eye will see M7 fasteners and Ribe R6 heads. These are the real dealie-o gang (not just spaced out L-Calipers). Two model year only 911S rear calipers (and seeing as how they didn't import 68 911S models to the states, that would make them one model year only!). These have the larger 38mm pistons and ride over top the famous unobtanium SWB vented rear rotor.

Complete bare metal restoration and fresh yellow zinc (yes, the ATE factory used yellow zinc on all of their calipers for superior rust protection). New ATE seals throughout and new compensating lines.

    Asking $995.00 plus worldwide shipping.

Will these work with anything other than the famous rotor?

I'm running spacers on my non-S rear calipers (effectively making them S calipers) and vented 944 rotors. All this was at Eric's suggestion and the only thing that I had to do to make it work was have about 2mm machined off the edge of the 944 rotor. A buddy of mine who owns a brake shop threw it on the lathe and they were ready to install in about 15 minutes.

Eric at PMB can provide you with the rotors or part numbers if needed.

    -Mike

Are you running SWB or LWB calipers?

Yup... like Mike suggests. Standard 944 Rotor with 2mm shaved off the edge. I've had some tell me they bolt up fine but, I believe Mike is the "real world" example and he had to shave the 2mm off. I haven't checked the real Wide L-Caliper vs. the spaced L-Caliper that Mike has... that may be the difference but I tend to doubt it.

Hi, 944 rears work, we use them often and sell quite a few here in Europe, machining the OD to suit and also we add the countersunk grub screws which hold the disc to the hub. The other main difference to be exact is they take the later narrow hand brae shoe, which is not a prob as the early style wide shoes are no longer used.

What are installers using in place of the "dog bone" spacer or are they available?

These rare brakes are also found on all 911L's... correct?
