    Early s calipers

So, I am approaching the rebuild phase of restoration, following a year of cutting shaping welding at the bodyshop.

I'm starting to look at suspension and brakes. I am interested to know what kind of calipers would have been standard on a swb 1968 S.

I have the following markings on the brakes we have taken off the car:

    Front: Atr 69; Atr 5r

    Rear: 11r ; 12r

Both front and rear calipers are cast iron (heavy and surface corrosion), and look like they need rebuild, thoughts on rebuild if original / seek alternatives.

    many thanks Rich

68s should have wide M at the front and wide L at the back. Those look like M brakes, if the have spacers between the halves then the are wide. To see some wide L calipers search "hen's teeth" in for sale to see some Eric from PMB recently posted for sale.
