    Fuel tank fittings for 70T

I bought an original fuel tank but it is missing all the fittings. I need to help finding what fittings go on a carburetted 70T fuel tank.

Attached is a pic of a 71E tank with MFI that has a return line fitting. Does the 70T tank supposed to look like this with a return line? If not, Does anyone have a picture how a 911T tank is supposed to be plumbed? Thanks!

If you have the original type fuel pump then it will have a return circuit to the tank.

    Yes,

2.2 Ts had a Bosch rotary pump mounted by the steering rack. The pump had three nipples: an inlet from the larger straight fitting on the tank, and a return line to the smaller banjo line on the tank. The third pump line went through the tunnel to the motor. I can't recall which is what on the pump, but there is a diagram in the supplement section of the original two volume shop manual.

Mark, I'm in the mood to nitpick, sorry. You are correct for 1970 but 1971 2.2 T's had the pump mounted in the rear by the torsion tube and both the suction and return lines run through the tunnel.

Thanks guys, but still have some questions about the tank/lines/pump; I thought the Bosch rotary fuel pump was only for MFI cars (911E and 911S). If this pump is indeed correct for a 2.2T, then wouldn't 14psi going to the carbs be way too much pressure? My car does not have a return fuel line back through the tunnel like the MFI cars do. What am I missing here?

You're missing the point that a "rotary pump" is just a type of pump, not THE pump. Bosch made several different pressure spec rotary pumps through the years...same pump was used in 914-6s as well as 2.2 Ts......

See this ad for the correct fuel pump. This is the Bosch pump with pressure appropriate for carbs: http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...009+bosch+pump

The large port is suction, the middle is pressure, the other end is return.

Since your 1970 pump is at the front, then the return from the pump to the tank is direct and does not run through the tunnel.
