    TTG spot/driving lights

I am looking to fit a couple of through the (horn) grille (TTG) driving lights. I don't want the larger Cibie 'Pallas' style, through the hood ones as I am not keen on cutting holes in the hood. I have read all the threads, I think, on this topic. For the TTG ones there seem to be many options: The original Hella TN1-2/TN4 seem either unobtainable of grossly expensive. But I can see Cibie iode 45s, Oscars, Hellas and even Marchal 660 and 662, Deitz, Lucas, Lumax and some repros that could work.

Any advice on what would be most sensible and 'period suitable' TTG lights would be much appreciated. I am also keen to see photos of installation using a bracket that goes through the grille and how the length of that bracket and size of the light can be managed to avoid tangling with opening the hood.

I got a set of original Hella 118 driving lights for sale. $645 + shipping

They are the correct choice for TTG lights.

Just in case this might be of interest to you.

I also have a set of repro TTG brackets, I think.

yes, it does all add up:
    - correct lights , say $550-700
    - horn grille cut outs, say Eric's at $250
    - brackets, say $100 (can be found a bit cheaper)
    - relay ... from $20
    - switch ... from $20

Thanks Thomas. These look interesting and I had given up on a set of originals. Going to give it some thought for 24 hrs as it does all add up. Still interested in any photos of installation - with and without the horn grill cut out.

    Still looking, I think.

Harry's nice Carello lights are 'fogs' it seems (I already have the original Hella yellow fogs that it came with in 1968, under the bumper). Thomas, I thought that the original Hella driving lights would have been TN 1/2? However, I am no expert on any of this. I really want a decent, reasonably priced set of TTG 5-6" driving/spot lights (Carello, Marchal, Bosch, Cibie, Hella), in period.
