So a fun day in the garage over a miserable weekend...

I stripped down and cleaned both gearboxes and then catalogued the gear stacks and LSDs. I have a AFMSZ stack and a AFMSX stack, so just a 5th gear difference. Internally, both were very similar and I could see no issues with either. I recorded all numbers and photographed stuff before putting them back together and shelving them for the time being.

One last cherry... Whilst emptying the last box of goodies

Real-deal Nadella reinforced drive shafts... these were correct for the T/R, 904, and 906. I'm led to believe that these are NLA and very expensive to $ource

I can only hope! The fact that it is a real S means it should be a solid 160hp at the wheels, so that'll be fine for me to learn on

    Fishies,

I was inspired by all you handy works. Changed engine, gb oil and brake fluid over the weekend.
The fuel pump went Kaput because my tank was empty and it prolly run too hot with no fuel for a couple of minute before i noticed.
Bought a replacement Bosch motosport pump and changed it myself.

All this is still a loooooooong way from restoring a car though.

Remember Hung, every little thing gives you confidence to take on something else

What did you use for moving the gearbox oil? It can be a bear getting new oil in! I usually leave the container of oil out in the sun for a few hours or immerse it in hot water (during winter) and use a corless drill driven pump...
