    Stuck glove box door-73' 911

My glovebox door latch isn't engaging. The door is unlocked and the knob spins freely to the right as it should and the backing nut holding the mechanism isn't loose. Feels like the mechanism does engage to free the latch.

How can I remove the door without tearing thru the cardboard insert? I removed the leather trim piece below the door and the two nuts that 'appear' to hold the hinge to the dash frame, but the hinge still seems to be held in place by nuts/bolts from the inside.

    Appreciate the help
    Mike

The glove box is held to the opening by a single screw that retains the metal strap. Go under the dash in the inverted yoga position, remove the screw, gently bend the strap back and remove the box.

i see the screw, but there is only the threaded portion coming thru the rear on the strap, not a screw or bolt head to turn it with.
