FS: Real 73 RS Touring Side Decos (not modded, bent S decos)

I purchased these last year from a fellow board member. My intention was to use them on a high end RS Tribute hot rod. Plans changed..

These are real 73 RS Touring Side Decos. NOT modded, bent S decos.

** I know of no one who is making re-pops of these, no one selling NOS RS Touring Decos.

You could use them as-is. However, I would send them to King of Trim for a refurbish. I would consider them a 7 out of 10 condition wise.

I have not seen any of these for sale for a while and honestly have little clue what they are worth. I know that OE 67S side decos are selling for $3500. With an eye towards selling these vs just sticking them back on the shelf...first $2500 OBO gets them.

Note: I am not a Porsche parts hoarder. My sincerely desire is to get these reunited with a 73RS Touring. PM with any interest.

    Here are the pics:

You are joking right? Did you pay $2500,- for those? I gave a very well used set from my RS almost away, think I got $100,- for it...was I stupid, time will tell.

As the thread starter you can delete the whole thread and start over if for replies you get posts that you feel might have been better expressed as a PM or an email from people who are not potential buyers anyway. Keeps the thread clean.

You maybe were more generous than you should of been. Considering they don't make these parts anymore and 73 RS Tourings are now $500k cars...I am sure these will eventually fine a home.

I am more than willing to talk price in PM with anyone.

For reference, I heard about a set of 67S side decos that sold for $7500 last year. Before Eric L started making his re-pops.

    Thanks.

    I don't mind the banter. I kind-a expected it.

True story. I had a set of seats out of our previous hot-rodded 67S for sale here. I don't recall the details of what they were etc. Doesn't matter for the sake of what I am about to tell you. I had 2-3 very solid buyers PM immediately. Of those buyers one of the buyers was posting how over priced they were and how they were complete crap etc. You get the idea. HE was trying to talk trash about the seats in an attempt to scare the other buyers off all the while he was PM'ing me (and emailing me) pleading that I would sell the seats to him.

I did not. I sold the seats for slightly less to the other buyer AND cc'ed the other buyers the PMs and emails I was getting from the trash talker.

Lesson for me: people play games when you post stuff for sale and be prepared. Its the nature of it.

Funny thing about old Porsche parts. They appreciate. 2 years ago a decent set of H1s were $400 all day long. Now the going rate is $1200. Look at FUCHs prices...if none of this stuff sells I will be just fine.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestion.

    Spot on and well said.
I still find it amusing that many love to see the crazy appreciation of collectible Porsches but they refuse to believe that parts prices are going to follow at a similar rate.

Now that I'm off that soapbox; $7500? Really?

I always enjoy hearing my friends spread rumors about a particular 911S model being worth well over any price I have ever seen and then when they need a very rare part to build that particular car they want to pay prices from 10 years ago.

Price are determined based on what people are willing to pay. I do not get this thread and that is fine.

    +1

    Seen that a lot.

At the other end of the spectrum, there are a handful of notorious sellers whose philosophy is 'you have a $500K car that's 99.9% complete, and (this part) is the one that makes it 100%, so I will price it accordingly.'
