    Paint Code Deciphering - Please Help!!

    In searching the choices of "Green" (quite a lot more than I thought) I need help with two items;

    1) Our '69E has the paint code 6828 on the tag. The COA shows it as Golden Green and as a "special order" from the factory. The "traces" of the original color under the bright yellow re-spray indicate this. From searching this forum the paint code for Golden Green ('68) is 62165. Are they both right?

    2) I'm trying to find the paint, or formula, for this color so I can restore it back to it's original state color wise, plus I really love this color. Any ideas where to source the formula or the paint? I checked with Wilhoit and they don't offer a sample patch in this color.

    Any help is appreciated. Posted also in the Tech Forum.

    Yes, 6828 is the same as 62165. The 62165 is a Lesonal code while the 6828 is a standard 1968 code. I have seen some 6828-L codes and some 62165-L codes on the badges in about equal #'s. The -L on the badge indicates Lesonal as the supplier. So how they determined the code to put on the badge I don't know.
    Do a search on the codes and the color and find other members that have repainted their cars. Someone will have the info you require.

    How quickly would you need your paint? I am about to start the restoration on a 911S 69 in Golden Green and will have the paint made from original sample from the inside of the door.
