I wonder why a 65 would have holes drilled for an incorrect front mounted aluminum VIN tag?bigk.jpg

In fact, the whole slam panel is from a later, 66- car, missing the pressings on the right side.

The early slam panel isn´t available so you´ll have to fab your own or cut out the pice and weld in from a donor to get it right.

It also has the wrong ignition surround it is a plastic one, it should be brass.

There are many things incorrect about this car assuming it is a very early example. I guess it could just be an early example and not really an early production number...

    Agreed.

I doubt this is a 65MY car and more likely a later 66MY car. Certainly not a 'very early example'.

There are lots wrong if it is a 65MY car, I think silver was first a MY66 colour also?

That slam panel makes no sense unless it's been replaced....which makes you ask what else has then?

Running Webers too, which would suggest Feb 66.

The complete dash ( upper and knee pad) don't say early 65.
    Looks nicely restored though.

    It's a late 65 car.

    66MY and not original colour...
