    Coa

I have recieved a COA from PCA for my 72 and there are many questions unanswered...

    1) The Exterior paint color and code are ... "Emerald (Kelly) /38". The very original label on the door post is paint code 225. I have heard this called Viper green. So what are the numbers (38) on the COA and how does it translate to 225?

    2) The interiour material and type are "Black Leatherette/13". Where is there a reference to decode this?

    3) How can the COA come back with an unknown build date and unkknown MSRP?

I would have thought the records that are researched would have build date and MSRP. At this point I can not claim to be a satisfied customer. I am happy to have the document and confirmation for future pruposes but it seems lacking in value. I plan to call and see what further explaination there is.

What are others experience w/ COAs?

In '72 the color code for Emerald Green is 225 and the paint code is 38. Viper Green is the '73 name for color code 225. Interior code 13 is for black leatherette interior (interior panels) and seats with leatherette on the bolsters and back with hound's tooth material center inserts.

You won't get production date or MSRP for a '72 model year from PCNA. The production date does exist on the original records in the Porsche museum archieves though.

    Great info Brian.
I was looking through my reference books and didn't see the 2-digit interior codes. Do you have a source for a table?
    Mine indicates black leatherette/11

Also, FWIW my '73 did have a production date listed, however it's a month later than the door jam sticker.
    Cheers

    Thanks Brian.

Is there a way to get the production date information from the Porsche museum?

    Hi Kent,

Check out this thread. There are a couple of posts from Hugh on the first page that have interior codes.

You are welcome Jay. I think you figured out a good inside source at the Factory for research.

    See you next weekend.
