    73 S - best resources for parts???

While I have yet to do an inventory of the many boxes of parts that came with my 'S' (heading off to the Porsche Parade tomorrow), I know I'll discover items that I want to replace because of wear or condition. Since many on this forum have already faced this challenge, I'd appreciate hearing thoughts on the best sources for OEM items (and reproductions where OEM items are NLA), as well as any sellers of used items who have proven to be good guys with quality items. Thank you!

    That's a good list.

Keep in mind, most of these sellers of new "OE" parts are dealing with a handful of reproduction parts makers. So a not-quite-right part from one is likely going to match a not-quite-right part from another. You need to be able to return unsatisfactory parts.

Most recently there have been complaints about the replacement '69-73 inside door handles. The molding is very low quality.

We need to collectively reject these "OE" parts that are substandard.

EDIT: sorry, missed a really excellent source: http://www.autoforeignservices.com

Since many of the "OEM" replacement parts are either different, or just don't match the quality of the '73 original parts (case in point, new OEM MFI fuel pump), you'll want to reuse/restore/revitalize as much of the original gear as possible.
For things that simply must be replaced, or a are missing, you'll want to stock up on patience. Trolling the forums (like this one) will yield much of what you need.

Also, in addition to EASY mentioned above, try http://www.partsheaven.com/Default.asp

    Have fun @ the parade.

As Eminence noted OEM is not the same as OE.....Many parts were made by the manufacturers that weren't used on production cars but were aftermarket (i.e. Cibie, Bosch etc). Terms are very important when describing a part.
Spend the time and research the part here first.
