    Correct-as-factory finish on bumper backside-1967

Sorry if this is already answered, but my search(es) failed an answer.
What is correct on front/rear bumper inside finish? Thanks

    Believe it's body color.

OK, thanks. So, body color on metal, or over undercoat/stoneguard?

Just paint, no undercoating at all.

Interestingly, I pulled a set of rear bumper end caps off (of the rear bumper) that appeared to be original and never off, and (underneath on the backside) was some black paint just in the area where the bumper end caps were, and then there was a run of black paint down the inside of the bumper.

Jim, have you noticed that before?

    Hi Eric

They hand painted black in various spots. Every car has to be a bit different. I can't recall seeing black paint there but I wasn't paying that much attention to each car I took apart, either.

    Ciao

    Jim

Will I ever get any credit? Cmon, guys - let me be a member. BTW, Eric - I have black under my bumper end caps, as well as engine grill, on my mid year '67.

For sure engine grill, inside face of doors, grill openings, etc. brushed on black at factory. Does it appear the factory brushed on paint below the rockers to meet with the undercoating?

My take is that the rockers were sometimes masked, sometimes not; mine look like they were shielded with a hand held carboard about 6 inches away from the rocker - left a faint overspray of undercoat.
