    Headrest Help

    I am trying to finish my 1966 911. The Kardex shows headrests. I have the remains of the originals. In my parts are two different types of the knurled thumb bolts that hold the headrest shaft tight . Two have the fine knurling and two have the heavier knurling. Anybody know which would be correct for my year? I have looked at lot of Pic's but can't see this detail.

    They both are correct. There are more combinations of brackets and knobs that one could imagine. They are often mismatched from the get go and nobody has realized that for the 40 plus years that they have been installed.

    I figured you would have some insight.
    The brackets look alike. As far as the bolts, since I have both types, which way would you lean so that I have 4 that are alike. Heavy or Fine??

    I like the fine ones but just get whatever suits you. I've got a bunch of those things and you are welcome to come and take your pick.
