Seems I've seen pics of this car before on the board - the seller is a 10 feedback guy with a stellar track record in Polo shirts.

What is with all the rampant scams...
I love that color on that SWB
Tom
67S soft rear window
60 356 Cab
70 914-6 3.2 short stroke twin plug
05 Audi S4 Cabrio (commuter)
05 Audi Alroad (family driver)
Aprilia SR 50R (Sanibel scoot)
I gotta agree with that. Hey, how'd my post get re-titled? I didn't want to become the object of a lawsuit for defamation, so I let readers judge for themselves what kind of auction it is.
Thanks for asking. I changed it. At this stage, I believe I have two choices...leave as is or delete the thread. It has been called out as a scam and so it is really not a true "For Sale" item. Thoughts?

Well, it could be the real owner or his agent selling it; it's still up on Ebay, and has 6 bids. That it's really for sale there is unlikely, but I'd hesitate to call it a scam until proven. The car has lots of time to go, this thread and evidence will develop, and I figure we'd see; I'm an empiricist, and Early S board members are decidedly more intelligent than average bears.
We all know that 24 out of 25 of these type auctions are scammers - but it's that 25th that makes life interesting.
Scams have seem to have become an unfortunate trend in terms of eBay cars for sale. I'm still trying to figure out how best to deal with them. I appreciate your comments.

well, if its a scam, there needs to be a guy who goes and beats these people with wiffle bats until they admit their crimes.
I still wouldnt buy that car without seeing a giant pile of photos of things that the owner didnt disclose publicly. So if I buy that car through ebay, am I protected via ebay? How does that work? Are these people just scamming ebay? I cant imagine ebay taking it in the cheeks by these types of people over and over.
