    '73 rear bumper question

    Did all non-RS cars, in 1973 come with the rubber bumpers (picture 1), or did some come with chrome (picture 2)....?

    Your answer depends on whether or not the car was for the US or ROW, and when it was delivered. My understanding is that starting with US cars delivered in Jan '73 the new low speed impact law was in place mandating the black foam bumperettes. edit added link: http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...er-Regulations
    Prior to January, it was possible for '72 produced MY73 cars to have the transitional black dipped steel bumperettes.

    ROW cars are a different story where I'll defer to the experts.
