A great tribute to the GTAM! That car looks perfect in every way.
What motor is he running? Twinspark?

    Lightbulb

What motor is he running? Twinspark?
Unfortunately not, the twin and single plug 'close valve' GTAm heads and engines are much harder to get then our factory period hot rod stuff..

He's running a hot rod 2lt. with, of course, the Spica MFI which was what the ‘Am’ was all about.

If I remember my Alfa stuff……..

All 16 or so factory (and about 2 dozen more) AutoDelta GTAm's were speced with the MFI for USA import therefore the race name GTAm, Am, was for America. They all started as steel, 4 headlight, 1750/2000 GTV’s (w/alloy and FRP parts) none were made out of the old step nose all alloy GTA’s.
This was all a ploy by AutoDelta’s Carlo Chiti to get the MFI homologated for group 2 racing in Europe, (he needed 1000 injected U.S bound cars to make it into the group) ironically no GTAm's that ever raced in the day in the U.S. The homologation for (Spica) stock MFI got immediately ‘stretched’ to Lucas cut-throat racing injection……

Does all this sound familiar?......... It’s actually MUCH weirder then Porsche stuff

    - Hectors motor……..

I am somewhat partial, but I believe the Nord motors, in any specification, are wonderful motors. The induction sound they make is as distinct as the sounds our flat six Porsche motors make. I have a 2.0L, euro-cam Nord motor in my GTAM Jr tribute that looks similar to Hector's

    I know so well Dave....

In fact if you were to come out here for an Alfa club day at Laguna Seca (most car clubs can only afford to rent Laguna on 'noise restricted' weekends) you would probably have more trouble passing the db limit on your induction then your exhaust....

    A beautiful sound..........

Here's a couple of pictures of the real GTA I helped Hector win the 1973 CalClub C/Sedan regional championship with ....

A GREAT car...... a long time ago....
