    1967 Rear Window Defogger

I am trying to figure out the installation of the rear window defogger in my 1967 911. Do they face in or out? What held them in place? Were they feed air from the the socket in the side rail via that foam tubing or was there another type of tubing? Pictures would be wonderful (I could not find anything in the parts manual).

Second question; what is the outlet tube on the driver's side heat exchanger for (on the neck of the heater box in the picture)?

The defroster tubes have a flange that slips onto the pinch weld seam, the tube is then held on by the installation of the window, the rubber seal hods the tube on the seam. I think I remember that they pretty much only go on one way. They were fed hot air by that now impossible to find orange tubing. We use a pretty decent replacement from Mc-Master Carr, however it IS NOT orange. That tube is for the heat hose to the thermostat on the MFI cars.
