FS: @eBay - Typical Ebay Car '75 Targa

How could you pull the trigger on this one! Maybe parts are worth the selling price, but this car has about all the red flags you could think of:
    1) Not original engine
    2) Not original speedometer
    3) Selling for ill owner
    4) First winning bidder backed out of purchase
    5) Never have seen this before, but it looks like it has an original early orange hood badge!
    6) Seller has never sold anything on Ebay, feedback is for buying some low priced auto parts.

I believe early '74 was the end of the orange badge: http://p914.com/p914_badges_crest.htm

I don't know... The fact that so much work is "recent", is the bigger issue for me, than the issues you listed..... with that said, ...It's a running, driving, Porsche 911, that appears to be rust-free, and doesn't require smog in California. Doesn't that make it $14k car as a base price?

I've got a '75 911S with a 10/74 build date that came with the next generation red hood badge. I have photos from the original owner that were taken the day the car was delivered from the dealer and one of them is a close-up of the badge so I know it was original.

That's kinda the way I was thinking... Good potential project car and slips under the smog year for CA. If it's cheap enough (and I had room)??? It could part out for more?

    All about due diligence...

LOL, I have had over 100 midyear cars. at least 90% of them 74/75 cars. They came with orange bar hood badges. period. the only ones I ever got without 'em were obviously newer and changed out along the way. Guys who have followed me here can attest to the 50 or so orange badges I sold here over the years...guess where they all came from
