    parcel shelf trim question

    i have two different versions of the retaining ledge that holds the parcel shelf.

    one Version does have patent fastener for the back rest strap riveted to the ledge a few centimeters towards the center.
    and the other does have it bolted at the same position as the outermost bracket that holds the ledge.

    meaning that one Version has 4 and the other 6 holes .

    does anyone know when this change happened and wich version is the early one.

    and it would probably mean that the position of the strap on the backrest is also different

    A very early 911 (1964 build) has the snaps separate from the rail mounts - it has six screw mount points on the rail.

    A April 1965 has the same four screws for rail mount and two screws with speed nuts for the seats strap snaps.

    I'd recommend looking at the back of the metal rail and see if someone recovered the vinyl and didn't use the two inboard holes.
