there are several different lid Versions on swb cars
early cars did not have the 911 Designation only the Porsche lettering.
and on the inside of the frame there was a ledge welded on to hold a rubber seal.
also the stamping was a bit different.
the first 911 script was mounted slantwise on the lower right side --
later they changed Position to the center just below the grill...at the same time the Porsche lettering got wider and in single letters.
therefore the hole pattern is different...i even have seen different hole pattern on the slanted 911 script.
also different grill versions are known...some say the 64 did have different bars..i have not seen that so far.
what i have seen myself is different surface finish.
and on the early grills they used stainless stell nuts and steel washers on the threaded aluminum rods that hold the grill together.
i assume they canged this to aluminum nuts and washers to avoid galvanic corrosion.
did i forget anything?
