Straight Pipes are better than coffee?

While I think there is blood in my caffeine system, it's hard to argue with the the joys of listening to an unmuffled air-cooled engine in the morning.....

Road & Track shares the aural delight.

I grew up outside of LA up the coast and had to take a 30 minute school bus ride in to town every morning. In 1966, a friend's dad bought a new red 911 and had a hot engine set up for it. It had a minimal muffler on it, an early Bursch or something like that. My first taste of 911 music...wow! The Dad would drop Tom off at the bus stop then take off wide open down the coast highway. After that...the stock 911s sounded like constipated coffee makers to me!
