    67 jack restoration

Can anyone direct me to an existing thread on restoring the factory jack for a 67? Im trying to get a line on the correct color blue for painting the base plate.
    Thanks,

    Skip,

Nice to meet you in the prep area and thanks again for the help on the coil clamp screws, still working on that one!

I used Testors #1172 "Sea Blue" on the foot of the jack. Some say the foot was black in 67, but I looked at Damon's unrestored one and it was blue, with a parkerized shaft. The temptation is to plate or polish the tube and the locks but that is not how they were.

Hope this helps. Loved the Devin and I am very pleased that you took high honors this year.

I have no documentation on this, but I recall it was once said the targas had jacks with blue. This never made sense to me and maybe this is utterly untrue but that is what I recall.

If it is any help the jack in the '67 basket case we are working on has a blue foot. I was assured by PO that jack was original to the car. It is, however, a targa which may or my not muddy the waters here.

    Hi John,
Must have been another Skip at the Parade ( I was stuck in San Diego). Thanks for the tips about the parkerizing. Thanks to all who responded. Greatly appreciated
