    WTB: SSI Heat Exchangers---Unavailability

What's happening to SSI heat exchanger availability on the market? They seem impossible to purchase for my '71T. Pelican, Stoddard--all are vague w/ no promises of when they'll be in stock. Is ownership of the co. changing hands to Dansk? What'r these anyway---Some sort of fetish object?

Yes, Dansk bought SSI. Just give it another couple weeks. They're coming...

This has happened many times before. You wonder if it is production issues or done to create demand before they do a run.

Perhaps their SSI version will be like their 356/912 muffler knock-off, which fit badly.

Ssi sold out to Dansk early this year. All SSI products were made in Novato Ca. All SSI inventory, materials and tooling were shipped to Dansk's facility in Europe. All future SSi exhausts will be manufactured in Europe. It is still unknown when product will be available in the states. I imagine there are back orders on product to be filled in Europe and around the world. SSI product was built with exceptional quality and fit. Hopefully the Dansk european exhausts will be of the same quality.

SSI made very high quality products. Let us hope Dansk does not compromise that,,,,,,,,, kind of like VW now owning Porsche. Stay tuned

Maybe, maybe not. It helps if a product distributor will take a "back order" and keep you up to date on your'e transaction. Fine, the customer accepts the carry. Otherwise, if you can't keep up then your'e advertisement should be be NLA. I realize that this may be a large task to keep up especially in the Porsche parts arena, but its all part of the deal of being a full-fledge product distributor. My thoughts only...sorry to vent.
