Hi everyone,
I am installing my webasto in the smuggler box and I can't find the gauze anymore to fill up the hole to the outside.
Any other suggestions to fill up that hole?

Would you mind photo documenting, step-by-step, the reinstallation of the heater? Would like to see all the parts that are typically hidden in most posts.
Re: your question, have you asked Damon or John Cramer?

I would love to see this also. I want to remove mine and cosmetically restore. Just not sure where to start.

related question re smugglers box.... is the interior of the compartment sprayed with schutz from the factory or is it just painted the typical matte black?
Skip
Hi skip
Just matte black which is done years ago so can't remember exactly
And yes I am in contact with Damon to figure things out
Thanks and rgds egbert
I have only seen a couple, but those just had the exhaust pipe going through that hole, no other sealing involved, but there certainly could have been stuff missing.

Hi Ed
Thanks for opening my eyes, problem solved

Ed is spot on (as ever!) Every one I have seen, and the parts diagram, just shows the pipe going through the hole with no packing around it. The Factory put lead around the hole, presumably to rustproof it-- that hole does not typically rust although the drainpipe next to it usually does.

My car has the full Webasto in it, and it appears untouched. It even has the original muffler still in place.
I'll take a look next time it's in the air.
(Wish it worked!)
