    WTB: Plug and play 2.2

I've got a '66 without an engine. I'm looking for a stockish and good running 2.2 T -- the more complete the better (carbs, fan, distributor, tins). Not looking for a high-dollar performance engine (perhaps another day). Just want to get the car on the road. Please let me know what you have.

    Thanks,
    Joe

...in his class Frank. Did you know Topper Chasse by chance? This is one of Topper's 911 engines which was really not necessarily built to drive the car to the liquour store...

Topper, will be missed. He was a great guy......and could drive the wheels off of a Porsche! He was one of the few drivers that was truly intimidateing to his competitors.

The engine came from his race car, maybe you can tell me since you raced against him?

Probably a good guess, I didn't write that tag (from 1993)

I'll bet there are a LOT more 2.2's racing out there then we think. And officially there all 2.0 liter's....... Uhuh. And pigs fly!

Hey now, don't be knock'n a 2.2 T race motor. Give it a pair of E or S cams, bump the compression by cutting the deck height of the heads, a set of Weber 40's, shorten up the gear box ratio's and it's good to go. Maybe not running at the front but mid-pack or with similar minded folks ...................

...from what I heard and read about "Topper Chasse", I don't believe he would likely build a crappy 2.2T (turd) to drive around a track. Heck, I'm now concerned, since I have .2 liters less displacement in my 906...
