    Wanted: Plastic Wheel Restorer

    I had Bruce Crawford do my wood wheel and dash for the 65'. I need someone to do mt 68' targa plastic wheel.

    plastic wheels are pretty easy. Grind out the cracks with a dremel and a small cut off wheel,V cut them, fill the cuts in with JB weld, bondo, or similar quality product, sand to uniform consistency, prime, wet sand, paint. I've seen many a VW steering wheel done Krylon spray bombs from Lowes that looked almost as good as ones I've done with PPG single stage....and Krylon is a HELL of A LOT cheaper.

    I did a wet sand with 320 and 600 and polished, but wasn't to happy yet.

    Have you contacted Koch in Santa Clarita (or in that area)?

    They are well known for restoring 356/ vw wheels.
