    Rebuilding steering box, and???

..how does one remove the rubber/metal bushings on the ends of the rack. I can't get the large nut to budge. Is the end threaded on? Threaded IN? (for a 1967) Thanks

    SWB Steering Rack Adjustments

Original "Silentbloc" eyebolts must be installed at precise angles, dimensions "to ensure free movement of the steering components and exact guiding of the tie rods". Such adjustments are not necessary if using later Turbo-style tie rods.

Factory tools, below, for rebuilding SWB steering racks with Silentbloc eyebolts. Large fixture P285 was provided with correct 8.5 degree angle, dimensions for proper re-assembly. It's also convenient for holding rack when undoing or re-torquing eyebolt nuts.
