    Engine number help!

    Hi, I was wondering if anyone on the forum can help me research an engine number to see if it lines up with the year/model, "6290595"

    It is a 69 911E. probably made about 1/3 of the way through the 69 model run

    Good news.

    This site lists an "8" after the 629. The 629XXXX is a '79 SC number.

    The engine serial should always be accompanied by the engine type #. There are many cases where the factory used the same serial series, but with a different type #.
