    The Canary: Air cleaner hose's

    1969 911 2.0L

First newbie engine question. So I pulled off the air cleaner assembly from the top of the carbs because... I can... and I have a big hose and a small hose, the big hose is the oil return but where does the small hose attach to? It has no clamp on the other end? I feel so ashamed....

    Cheers

The small hose is a drain line for anything like oil, water, gas that may settle in the bottom of the air cleaner. There is an attachment point.

if you look beyond where you put an arrow for the small hose, you will see/or not, a small metal tube protruding thru the rear sheet metal. It goes to a collector with a rubber boot down the other end to catch excess oil vapors. you cannot see the other end as it drops down next to the flywheel.

in the foto you can see, it is the small tube hanging just left of the flywheel that drops down with a rubber end (actually the rubber boot is missing in this foto)that has a slit to let oil vapors accumulated to exit south.
the tube has a smaller angled end that points towards the air box where that small hose attaches to,.
