    Joining panel putty

    Hi Guys,

I'm about to re-attach/rebolt the front fenders on my '67SWB after minor rust repair. When removing them I noticed a grey putty strip that adhered to the joining surfaces of the fender and chassis. Is this available still? A Wurth product perhaps? It appeared to be in a strip form and after 46 years was still relatively soft.
What are the restoration guys amongst you using as a replacement?

    Cheers

You'll probably have to search again in US würth store.

It is a Henkel Product- Teroson Terostat - which is shown on the PET as Part Number 000.043.129.00

It is available from an OPC against this Part Number in a 5m roll but is quite expensive.

When it turns up it is now 20mm x 2mm thick.

I have tried to buy it from Henkel in the UK but I can't find it in the correct size.

3M make a Scotch -Seal Mastic Tape 5313 in 20mm x 2mm thick which works well and is supplied in 20metre rolls.
