FS: 2.7L Carrera 'Plus' Hot Rod Street/Track Longblock/Engine

I bought this a few years ago from Randy Webb when he was leaving the country (from Florida to Dubai). I don't have paperwork on it, as he was many states away, and all packed up. I do have the info he emailed me about the engine, for what that is worth.

    2.7L based on 4R case
    • Boat-tailed Webs
    • Dilivar Studs, Case savers
    • Built by John Forbes at Black Forest Racing in South Florida
    • Heads and intake Manifolds ported by Peter Dawe (Worked for Andial and Mark Donohue/Penske)
o Intake manifold mounting holes slotted to allow sliding outward for more port bias
    • I don’t have spec’s on the valves and vave job
    • MFI ‘S’ Cams
    • 930 Oil Pump
    • Mechanical Chain tensioners, but I have (and can include depending on price - hydraulic tensioners and covers, etc)
    • 9:1 Compression ratio

    Also includes
    • Fan shroud – OK condition, one smaller crack
    • Fan housing
    • Fan with some minor corrosion
    • Alternator and air director
    • CMW Billet Valve Covers
    • Oil Thermostat
    • Center Carb Linkage (missing one carb mount, may find before sale)
    • 2 throttle pulls
    • Fuel hardline
    • Hardware for valve and cam covers

    Can include (depending on Price)
    • 2.7L Distributor – Bosch number 0 231 184 001

I am happy to plastic wrap it and crate it for the buyer (I have lots of experience shipping), with reasonable crating fee (just cover supplies, whatever those are if I have to buy wood, etc). I can also ship by fedex freight easily, or whatever service the buyer prefers.

Considering the head and manifold work alone would cost around $3-4k, not to mention the carbs and case work, I am asking $4500 complete. I feel this is very fair, all things considered. I would be willing to part it out, but need to have some of the big items ‘pre-sold’ before I agree to strip it down. I know it’s worth much more in parts, but I prefer to let it all go at once.

A friendly bump for what looks like a good deal. When I talked with Greg about this engine I learned that it has plugged injector ports that could be unplugged. This means the engine could be set up (with some work) to run MFI...and that would be a very cool engine. Just say'in.

Carburetors are photo'ed, but I did not describe them. They are Weber 40 IDT's.

Yep - Like Lars said, the injector ports are epoxied closed, so they could be re-opened. One of those "nth" degree porting things.
