Novel idea
the issues of an air leak, compressor fail, or the system to come 'unglued' at a moment on the highway, leave me thinking the story may not have all been written.......
yet.
But will be someday, somewhere, far from a shop or help in the form of o-ring replacement. Until then, the sky looks sunny and blue, and ease of loading and unloading a snap.
I want to see one in the flesh. With a load. And about 50,000 miles of road testing on it.

I wonder if you could use the truck/train brake principle to provide a fail safe. Have springs that would support the weight of the car and keep the bed in the high position, only using the compressed air to lower it. No air = no lowering but no crash on the freeway.

there is a Mercedes truck that lower the bed to the ground , the old VW museum has one ,
also people that move safes and other heavy things use a trailer where the axle swivels and the bed sits close to the ground,
I saw some using the same thing for his Harley
We have had a sim design here for about 7 years

Neat idea, but it doesn't look like it has much of a frame.
