    Bluapunkt radio/Power antenna connection

On the power antenna, there is a white wire which connects to the back of the radio, so the antenna is activated. Does anyone know where that connection at the back of the radio is? Do all Blaupunkt's have this connection?

    :

no they don't....this is why many radios requires a switch on the dash to drive the antenna up or down. There are ways around it, like simply raising the antenna when the key is on, using the same power wire that feeds the radio.

you could take apart the radio, find the 12v output from the power switch, and run it thru a relay, or even the internal light that turns on when the radio is on

otherwise, you'd need a current sensing relay, but it would need a fairly low tripping point

Thanks Sonett,,,, do you know which radios, be it Blaupunkt or Becker that has this feature built into the radio, so the white may be hooked up?

I would like to purchase a blaupunkt or Becker for a 69t but want to use a separate switch to drive and electric antenna, what would be a good radio to buy that would enable me to do so.

    Thanks Lee

I would think any radio would work. You are going to wire the antenna motor separate from the radio.
