    Help Identifying This Fuel Pump

Does anyone know which fuel pump this is? Finally took the cover off the pump to have a look and I see I need to replace some fuel lines and clamps. Pump is working fine but I do not know what kind it is. It's mounted just back of the fuel tank. I'm running webers on a '70T. Thanks for any assistance.

Bosch pump with numbers on the side , which you can use to look up the application.

Looks just like a 70T fuel pump to me, and it is mounted in the proper place for a 70T. 71Ts use the same pump but it is mounted in the left rear of the car.
You will need to read the numbers of the bottom of the pump to be sure. E and S pumps look just like that, too. They just have different numbers and put out more pressure.

    Regards

Many thanks for the info. Can these pumps be dismantled and refurbished if need be?

    Not by mere mortals.

This is a fuel pump off my '73 CIS car. Anyone know what the letters and number stand for?

the part number is 0580 960 009 and that is for the 911 TV (ie 2.4T carb car) but as the Bosch site says it also applies to PORSCHE 911 2.2 T 01/70 to 12/72 (my guess is ALL 2.2T's) and PORSCHE 914 /6 2.0 11/69 - 12/73

the 449 is the manufacture date number as as this thread shows it was made in September 1984

i think the CIS car should have another part number - 0582 54998 but don't take that for gospel as that is not an area of any expertise for me

Yes that is a carburetor pump. CIS pump has the input at the head end and the output and the tail end on the side and no return.

Interesting. I've had the car for about 25 years now. Prior to my owning it the CIS was replaced with Webers. Obviously the folks that did the conversion swapped the pump out as well. That's probably a good thing. Right now I'm thinking about getting this pump rebuilt. I've heard good things about Fuel Injection Corp. I'll call them tomorrow.

I was worried about saving an original part but that original part is obviously long gone. I'm now tempted to install a Holley along with the huge Fram fuel filter. Since the car hasn't been original since 1984 what's the point of buying an $800 Porsche pump. And the saga continues.

Definitely not the original fuel pump. The CIS pump as noted has one inlet and one outlet, and aproximately 70psi output. If you decide to go aftermarket, you should be able to get a fair amount selling that pump as a core for someone looking for an original. My CIS pump is #0 580 254 985 I have heard many good things about Fuel Injection Corp, but it is still expensive.
