    72 oil door & good luck x2

Opened my oil door to add a qt and noticed that the rod which releases the door was loose & flopping around. I don't know how you would get the door open if the rod let loose with door closed.

second bit of luck is that the plastic piece that holds the rod into the latch is still availible form Porsche as it is still used in many places. part number 993 531 563 00 (plastic trim). and its only 98 cents

    Check your plastic rod holder

Would this also be the same piece as on the rear deck lid release? Can you post a picture of the one you mean.

For 98 cents I might buy a couple just to verify there is a P car part less than a dollar! ;-)
