As Marco said and then add a little liquid fabric softener to the rinse bath.

Hi I just took the first link that was not german.
It should be available in the US too.
I love my tornador Gun - nothing better to clean interiors and other stuff.
    Cheers

I take a towel and place it beneath the belts. To loosen the dirt up, I use hot water and pour it on the belts. You will be amazed at the dirt in the towel from just using the hot water. Once they are saturated, I spray Simple Green on and use a very light bristled boars hair brush in a back and forth motion. I then rinse them with cool water to get the cleaner completely out. They take a day to dry and look and smell great.

I just did this with silver belts and they came out great:

    1) Hot water in bathtub with liquid laundry soap and OxyClean.
    2) Lay belts flat in bathtub.
    3) Soak belts for 24 hours.
    4) Scrub belts with laundry brush.
    5) Drain dirty water.
    6) Repeat steps 1-5.
    7) Lay belts flat in sun for 8 hours.
