Some interior shots and new gloves

I dont often post about stuff I buy unless its something special. I've been through a few different pairs of leather driving gloves, but just wanted to share these which I like very much, and some photos. I bought some new black ones to go with my black interior. I have some brown ones from when I had my SC. Just a bump for my guys over at Lowly Gentlemen, as they really do make and carry some high quality stuff.

    Lovely.

I've been using a fantastic pair of possum skin driving gloves I bought in New Zealand 7 years ago - paper thin, but unbelievably tough! (Possums are a protected Australian marsupial that were released into New Zealand and became a huge feral pest).

ha! I've never heard of possum leather. these are ethiopan lamb leather. Everything is thinner in ethiopa?

The old Jim Clark gloves were supposedly Kangaroo skin.

'Roo skin is renowned for being super strong for it's thickness. A lot of the best bike leathers use kangaroo skin. The Aussie possum is from the same (marsupial) family, so that might explain it's tough yet supple qualities...

For the record, Australia is the only country in the world that eats it's Coat of Arms animals... Kangaroo and Emu - nothing nicer on the BBQ

I do like a good pair of driving gloves. I also like Kangaroo. Time to go for a drive to get me some Roo-B-Que!

True John but don't be tempted to try the possum fur sweaters from NZ, they are the modern equivalent of the hair shirt.

For my money you can't beat the pair I have crafted from Water Buffalo scrotum. Triple tanned, supple and very tactile.
