Yes, rather early. What more can you tell us about it? Paint code? Engine & trans? Is is a show car or a project?

    ??

Hummmm... at first glance it looks like sky writing.

I think I can make out The Virgin Mary in there as well. Or is that a dinosaur?

300799 has spent nearly 50 years of it's life as a race car. SCCA, T/A, IMSA GTO/GTU/GT2 workhorse that ran as both an RSR and 935 and vintage races today in RSR configuration to 1984 IMSA specs.

No idea what the original color code was.

    Bodywork: Fleet White
    Chassis: Machinery Gray

Very interesting, it must have quite a resume of race entries. Are there any badges left on the chassis? Or VIN stampings that are readable?
Pretty much a write-off as a 1965, but very impressive as a RSR. There cannot be too many with such a long race history. Any idea when it was first raced?

There's still badges on by the door hinges and the vin in the picture, the original tub is paper thin from a few trips to the acid tank. Much of the tub has been cut away, firewall, rear seat, rear crossmember, smugglers box area, front and rear shock towers, front crossmember, drip edges, etc...It's basically a tube frame car with the minimal amaount of original tub required for the IMSA rules.

Lots of history from the 70's and 80's, it get's foggy in the 60's, with just a few photos, and vague memories. Lots of IMSA racing, Sebring, Daytona, Miami, Atlanta, Road America, Mid Ohio, Lime Rock, etc...Known owners / drivers include: Tico Almeida, Luiz Mendez, Juan and Carl Lopez, Hugo Gralia, Jamsel, Pepe Romero, Lorenzo Lamas, Vic Elford, and Brian Redman, and more...

Rebuilt in the late 90's, chromemoly cage, prepped to FIA specs and IMSA 1984 rules. A very functional, purpose built, serviceable old beast. Still running MFI with the high butterfy intakes and Kugelfischer pump, the 935 spool in the gearbox, and other interesting bit.

Not much 1965 left. There's still badges on by the door hinges and the vin in the picture, the original tub is paper thin from a few trips to the acid tank. Much of the tub has been cut away, firewall, rear seat, rear crossmember, smugglers box area, front and rear shock towers, front crossmember, drip edges, etc...It's basically a tube frame car with the minimal amount of original tub required for the IMSA rules.
