6 month storage with full or empty gas tank

I will gone for 6 months this winter and wonder if it is better to store my 71 Targa with a full or empty gas tank.. Last year I was gone and left the car with a full tank and added stabil to the gas. I was thinking it may be better to run the tank empty and leave it that way for my 6 month absence. Also i was going to use a battery tender and was wondering if the car is "negative ground" for purposes of hooking the battery tender up??

In my opinion keeping the tank completely full with Stabil is the way to go.

I would also try and protect your tires. Maybe at least filling them to max pressure (per sidewalls) or even setting them on the curved tire storage cradles.

Also, and don't ask me how I know this, keeping your car uninviting to small rodents really pays off. If the car is going to be in an area where there is lots of activity helps. Otherwise some sort of electronic rodent thing .....?

leave it full by all means, an empty or low level tank allows for rust to set in while when full this process will not occur.
keeping a full tank and Stabil is excellent and the battery on the tender, your all set.

Full tank. I also jack up tire pressure. Oil change plus a last run before storage is not bad either. I also close carb and exhaust with a WD40 sprayed cutton cloth and put the batteries (I exit them of my car) on maintainer. I do this since 8 years, never had a problem.

I like to remove the plugs and squirt Marvel mystery oil into the cylinders, then reinserting plugs. I like putting the car on stands too.

I let my friend store his 1964 356 coupe in my heated garage for the winter and he visits his car regularly to check on it and move our cars every few months to avoid tire flat spots. Still like to know if Positive ground on the battery. this is because i had battery set up changed when i bought the car and there is a single optima slid into drivers side battery box and negative post, which is grounded to chassis, can't be reached easily.

Yes the 1971 car has a Negative (-) ground. I personaly take the batteries out of the car and put it on the maintainer. Eliminates chances of damage to my new suspension pan and battery boxes, but it is not necessary. Full tank with stabil, prevents moisture in air from condensing to cause rust.
I am no expert, but I only know of early British cars using a Positive (+) ground.

full tank with Marine grade Sta-bil. Run the mix through the system some. Leave the tires alone, just move the car back and forth if flat spots are a phobia (I've never seen one). If you have liquid acid in your batteries, throw them away and get the gel ones, just do it.
