FS: @Heritage Classics - '73 Aubergine over tan T Coupe

Not mine. Looks to be a nice car. Asking is optimistic at $94,500.

Pretty car. I was watching the auctions and noticed known dealers buying cars for resale. It struck me that they were paying more than everyone in the room thought it was worth, plus fees and shipping, how much is he expecting to profit? Well, according to ebay 100%.

Looks to be a nice car with a desirable color. But are T s really bringing 94K?

We have all seen how the S's are pulling the values of the T's and Es. There will come a time where a mint T will overtake a so so E and the same for a E over a S. Still 94K is optimistic for even a pristine car. But as we all now it only takes one buyer for the sale to go through. There is a signal orange 2.2 T (misstated as signal yellow in their description) car with sport seats in Road Scholars website. I shudder to even pick up the phone and get an asking price. Knowing RS I am quite sure they will ask top dollar for their inventory.

Is this a reproduction DOT label? Notice the errors?

Bruce, you have correctly identified one of the errors. There is a major error, and a minor error yet to find.

That repop VIN decal sticks out like a sore thumb. First thing I noticed.
The "7" is punched incorrectly. My 10/72 car (and every other one I've seen from this period) have the missing punches in the 7. Plus the decal looks like it was applied by my 5YO son.

VIN of this car (for search engine posterity) 9113100134

VIN is short a digit. Maybe should be 9113100034 (73 T coupe + 4 digit id number), but who knows what it really is?
