    Louisville Swap Meet/ Need help/thoughts/opinions

    Hey Guys,
Tony Proasi (911Quest) and I are thinking of having a swap meet here in Louisville at his shop, Stuttgart Specialists, sometime next year and would like to get your input.
We hope with Louisville being conveniently located virtually in the center of the eastern two thirds of the US, that we could have a pretty good turnout.
We in no way want to conflict or compete with other swaps and events, but are thinking in the spring of 2014.

Niether of us have done a swap before, so we thought it would be a good idea to ask your thoughts/opinions on everything from dates and how to promote to what type of swap it should be, should there be a peoples choice show, should there be newer models, etc, etc.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Bud:

I'd start with what you've liked seeing in the past and go from there. It's great to already have a logical location to have it. You can always start slow and GROW. Look on automotive and PCA calendars online to help avoid date conflicts. I've gone to the LA Lit Show for years any it was really low key in the early days. Have fun!

Thanks to all for your posts. We really want to make this about the community, so please keep your thoughts and opinions coming...
We're thinking October 2014, but are considering this October 12th if we can get enough response/commitments from sellers and attendees between now and Thursday Sept 12.
We have about 40+ good spots available (potentially more if needed), and if we can hear from around 20 sellers with intentions of coming, we'll do it. We just don't want to through a party and nobody show.
If we decide to go ahead this year, we'll keep it low key and casual (but work like heck to make it as successful as possible) with an eye towards bigger and better next year.

So post here and let us know if you want to do it this year, we sure do.

BTW: No charge for sellers or attendees.

    Best,
    Tony and Bud

As mentioned above, we are going ahead with this on October 12, 2013.
We'd like to get a feel for what kind of attendance to expect, so if you plan on selling, please email us to reserve a spot.

    cjt@1-metro.com

We have about 40-50 spots (parking spaces) along with some grassy areas that could be available if needed. Again, no charge for sellers or buyers....

More news and details to come, stay tuned here...

Is this you Bud, with the Albert Blue E car? I picked up a 1971 Albert Blue 911T, need to talk with you.

I will try to make this swap, thanks for making it work. I might bring a car to sale? If OK?
