During the recent Nurburgring Oldtimer Grand Prix this August 8th 2013, a 356 was stolen from a French gentlemen.
The car was parked in, surrounded with modern cars, at the parking space of the hotel, a 15min drive from the track.
During night, it was gone - the only way possible is that a truck used his crane, put a belt around the car and hooked it on its flatbed.
I know, because when I arrived the night later, the hotel owner told me the story. (and I quit the place.)

Its a sad thing that during recent Classic Cars Meeting in Europe, more and more Classic Cars are stolen.

The only shure thing is to NEVER leave it outside but ALWAYS booking a Hotel with a closed in/garaged area.
In France, most Hotel offer this, in Germany its unheard, because Classic Car theft is pretty recent.

Porsche are the most stolen marque - During my stay at the Nurburgring, the Porsche Factory handed us out flyers that owners need to be aware.

Good luck to the owners to get their cars back. I heard owners went to tears when they realised after breakfast, its gone.
