FS: Pair of Amber 118 Driving Lights - NOS

For sale - a pair of absolutely perfect NOS amber lens driving lights. These have 4 rivets, and its my understanding that these were purchased over the counter at the dealer.

Asking $2,450 including shipping in the US.

    Thanks for looking.

I have a used pair of these and I do not think that the lenses will separate. I would like to, but I was scared that whatever was holding it together was intentional, and I might damage the lens. I got the impression they are like the cibie units.

I managed to separate the glued in lens on a late 118 by soaking in acetone and working the lens off but it destroyed the mirror surface leaving only a tan primer. what type of reflective surface was that?

It's easy to tell if they are the later sealed units or not. If you look at the notch in the reflector outer perimeter you will see either a white sealing compound or you will see the black cross section of a seal in between the glass and reflector. The early units (like Mike's) are indeed separate reflectors and lenses with a flat seal in between. If you see the black seal you can ease the glass away with a small flat blade. You will likely lift some of the reflective coating along with the seal but, it's outside of the parabula.
