    Wood

I have a question regarding a box of wood my friend found years back. He was working at the warehouse in Rockland where Volkswagon, Porsche, Audi was based. Unfortunately he watched as the inventory of engines, transmissions, spare parts, and even the Dyno were being trashed for whatever reason when they closed it down.
In a high deep corner of the building he found a box of what he believes to be Teak. Was this for the early cars, ay ideas? I have a piece and it is very dense and difficult to cut.

Photos would help... I believe that the wood dash trim on the early cars was quarter-sawn teak veneer... but I could easily be wrong!
