    Another fuel line question (1967)

At the rear of the tunnel, the hardpipe emerges. The parts book illustration is unclear as to what happens next. Is there another hardpipe leading up to the fuel pump, or all rubber from the tunnel? Thanks

    Brian,

No too sure about 67 but there's a hard line on 68 onwards. It starts near the seat bottom an emerges out the left hand longitudinal near the pump.

    Silverbullit,

the tunnel hard line comes out of the body/tunnel and turns up by the torsion tube. A rubber fuel hose, about 200mm (or so) long connects to a second hard line that turns the corner and fits up thru both the bottom and top of the longitudinal, it's part no. 901 108 532 00, it looks like its less than 1m. It sticks up into the engine bay by about 50mm. Two rubber grommets covers the openings in the longitudinal sheet metal. Just one ferrule at the rubber hose/fuel tank outlet, none on the other rubber hose metal tube joints.

Look at the bottom inlet going to the Bendix fuel pump - the rubber hose connects to the metal fuel tube coming up thru the longitudinal.

My '67S (and '69T ) has a hard line coursing through the left side body channel within a welded tube approximately 15mm in diameter. There are grommets at the top and bottom of the tube supporting the hard fuel line. The hard line courses on an angle through the tube. As it exits the bottom of the channel/tube it bends slightly forward then goes horizontally toward the center of the car over the torsion tube and trailing are mount. It ends just past the the trailing arm mounting flange where the soft line picks it up from the hard line exiting the tunnel. That ruber connecting line is only about 20 cm or so.
