it's gone very quiet in here .. shhhhh....

It must be the busy end to the year or we are all just flabbergasted that its now September and if you live in Sydney, it's back to the beach !

I caught up with Matt Hart the other day and saw his new car almost completed with new strips, tartan seats, cool Campys and tyres and Cibie spotlights which looked remarkably good. You still need to do something with the number plate surrounds ...

RC has been quietly putting the finish touches on his new car which I'm sure will soon be unveiled. He's also working on another project that has yet to be outed, currently residing in the panel beaters shed. Seats being redone by John Pisani:

We (Group S) had a run at Muscle Car Masters and it was a hoot. I dont think there was many in the crowd that respected the 2.0litre flat boxer engine. I must say that Upper Middle Bogan (ABC TV) has hit the nail on the head. I finished the meeting with car and pride in tact. Pleased to see Justin braved the westies, sorry I got sidelined by family friends. Best race of the weekend was the TCM race with Bill Pye in his 911 Rally Car beating John Bowe in the Mustang. Yep it was a top 10 reverse grid, but it was an exceptional race. Congrats Bill.

When I caught up with Matt we discussed styling of my rally car and he's inspired me to un RS it, so Ive got some work to do. Cam I need to talk to you or John about wheel refurbishment which I think you both have done ?? New seats arriving next week and seat belts being installed ....

Wakefield Historics - 28 and 29th Sept. for anyone who's in the area or wanting to take there car for a run.

Good call Andy.... I have been pretty busy on the 70S see link http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...S-resto/page13

The race car needs some TLC and there is no chance of racing again this year, so
    • Front screen is out (no rust yeah!)
    • Rear screan is coming out (Lexan in and new seals - rust removal)
    • Dash has been removed and is rooted. New one is being made by John in the correct burgandy.
    • Stripes to be removed and painted on
    • general untidy areas to get some love

New shop opens in November, so all projects go on hold from 1 October.... wow lots to do!!!!

I've adjourned Porsche work sine die as we have committed to changing house (maybe by xmas). Race car cage should arrive this week, I found a pair of 911R manifolds on eBay for $200, and blue car is travelling under it's own power - still needs to be tuned and wheel aligned. I'm probably going to break my own rules and have Michael Harris finish off the fine tuning and set-up. I just don't have time before xmas.

Discovering how hard it is to find a place with everything the wife wants, and every thing I want I really have to have 3-4 car accommodation and that isn't easy in the inner city Bracing ourselves for spending much moula only to have to renovate...

    Hmmm, where to start?

Muscle car masters was a downer for me with yet more fuel surge issues. I withdrew after 1 race and I'm not racing the car again until I'm satisfied it fixed.

On the upside, I finished the mini resto / details correction on the 65 today. Car looks and drives great. I can't bring myself to put the hubcaps back on the refinished painted steelies. It was a big punt buying a 40 year old car sight unseen without an inspection - but I got lucky this time, very lucky.

Also pulled The Whiteness (tm) out of the shed. Alex is in town to drive it with an old friend of mine in the 50 year anniversary harbour bridge thing tomorrow. The tiny screen made life difficult for the guys putting the windscreen banner on! It was sure getting lots of love at PCSS this morning.

The 65 had a nice debut crossing the Sydney harbour bridge this morning with 100+ other 911's. Fun morning and Matt hopefully has a few nice pics of the car for you all to see.

I have them (they're even in the trunk) but I can not bring myself to put them on. The freshly painted steelies look mint.
