EDC -- Every Day Carry -- New Fascination For Me -- Anyone Else?

Maybe it's because I own and operate a beer wholesale warehouse, but I need tools to make it through my day. So I have always had an interest in them, but in the past few weeks, I have become fascinated with the whole EDC/Knife Collecting community. I have always had a lot of different knives, some "users", and some "safe queens", but I have discovered several forums like the Early S forum where there are those who have, in some cases, gone to the dark side with all of this.

Be that as it may, I will now present a few photos of what I am carrying in my pockets and I invite anyone else with an interest in this stuff to do the same:

My EDC knife.... I usually carry two, but it depends on how I need to dress for the work day..... I've carried this every single day for years.

I've resisted the urge to get into EDC - it's a slippery gadget slope - and only dip my toe into the forums from time to time when I need something, but you do find some neat stuff.

Currently carrying a Spyderco <s>Mini</s> Micro Dyad with a bone handle, Atwood titanium Pest and some CountyComm screwdriver keys.

Slippery, true, but not nearly as much as the Early S thing!

While I love 'em, I haven't really got into the "rotation" thing. I like collecting knives, but for carrying, I like to have the same thing all the time. I am not sure why, but maybe it is the same reason I have been eating the same thing for breakfast for the past twenty years.

It may also be because I really use my knife as a tool around the warehouse and I like carrying a good one (like your DPx HEST above). I don't like the idea of beating on several good knives -- too much of an investment there because as you put mileage on them they go down in value. So I only beat up one knife -- the Chris Reeve that I mentioned.

I rotate them, and I use them. For EDC, I don't spend more than $200, and and try a lot of them. I still haven't found the perfect one, so I keep rotating. I like different knives for different reasons. Some I like for the feel, some for their grind. Sometimes I wear them out. Sometimes I just grow tired of seeing the same thing all the time.

The one constant is a Swiss Army knife. While I love the various multitools, they're generally too big.
